The Journey Begins

Growing up in small town Iowa, I enjoyed bike rides with friends and trips to the library and to grandparent’s farms and hiking to the nearby lake. I read my books in an old oak rocker in the front room, with a bowl of popcorn on my lap, while my 5 younger siblings played around me. I’m sure I helped out with their care and around the house, but for the most part, I was left to enjoy life as a kid. That’s what I wish for, that people can live their own lives, determining what is best for themselves. This blog will be essays penned by me as an adult, beginning with one hastily written in 1991.
